Are the procedures involved during the various treatments painful?
No, the procedures involved in any treatment of Laser therapy is not painful, however the sensation of pain or discomfort
normally felt are similar to rubber band pinging against the skin. The Intensity of pain will depend upon factors as –
-Individual's sensitivity
-The body site being treated (for example the face is more sensitive than the legs, and the central part of the face is more sensitive than the peripheral part)
-The pigmentation of the skin, the greater the skin pigmentation, the greater the heating of the epidermis, Fair skin are less sensitive
-The density of the hairs, that is the greater number of hair per cm2 greater is the sensation of heat, the progressive reduction of the hair density as the sessions are continued explains for the consequent reduction in the sensation of the pain
-The Fluence
For this purpose we at vanity assess all these parameters for the aim of carrying out the most comfortable sessions possible for the patient. In the case where hair density is extremely elevated, lower fluence is used during the first two sessions and is reduced again before raising it to again to a higher level.

Why does the number of hairs in the area under therapy seems to be increased after first session?
This only seen in few cases. After the first session that is at the second session the patient may be under the impression that
the number of hairs has increased with respect to previous session. In actual this is due to a partial synchronization of hair
cycles: the hairs found in the sample phase all grow together. Therefore more sessions will be effective for hair removal. At the
base of each hair follicle there are usually another two inactive follicles. Sometimes after waxing it is possible to see 2 or 3
hair that exit from the same orifice. When this happens it means that hairs have become active at the same time (synchronized).
This only occurs rarely. In man, as opposed to women, the follicles are normally synchronized and therefore it happens that
follicles all grow out together during the anagen phase. For this reason it is necessary to repeat the epilation treatment
several times; as at every session only the hairs that are found in the anagen at the particular time will be bombarded. In fact
the pulsed light flash lamp (likewise the laser) not only acts on the precocious anagen phase but also to certain degree on the
telogen phase.

What is the time interval between various sessions?
It depends from patient to patient but on an Average the interval between two sessions is approximately 4-6 weeks.

How many sessions will be necessary for my treatment?
It is difficult to say in advance how many sessions will be necessary, that depends upon the individuals skin type.
On an average 6-8 sessions are sufficient.

Are there any special precautions that is to be taken before and after treatment?
Yes there are several precautions that a patient should follow these are
-Not to carry out epilation treatments (waxing, tweezers, electric epilators) or bleaching hair for at least 2 weeks (better 1 month) before the first treatment
-Avoiding exposition to the sun for at least 4 weeks before the treatment (Sun exposure must be avoided to avoid post treatment complications)
-Please visit us for health conditions and the state of the skin
-Patient should shave 1-3 days prior to the laser therapy. Hair shafts more than 1 mm length should be shaved or trimmed shorter to prevent energy from being wasted by absorption in the external hair shafts There is also a potential for epidermal thermal injury due to contact of charred hair above the skin
-Waxing and electrolysis should be avoided for 1 month to allow for the growth of the hair follicle, for effective laser treatment the hair follicle must be in anagen or growing phase

What are the precautions that one should take Post treatment?
This varies from one therapy to other, however in general patient should apply ice or cold gel post treatment as following the
treatment the area will exhibit a slight erythemic response with follicular edema (may last 24-48 hours).
-Patient has to apply ointment to treatment area.
-In case of folluculitis: local antibiotic twice daily.
-Avoid sun exposure and tanning Tx (total sun screen).
-Avoid hot shower, sports activities for 2-3 days.
-The patient should keep in mind that the treated follicle needs to be expelled by the body similar to a foreign body.
This process takes approximately two weeks.
-The next treatment is scheduled in 2 to 6 weeks (depending on the hair regrowth changing from patient to patient).
If there is no hair growth, the patient should return with the hair grows.
